Be My Baby by The Ronettes

Be My Baby by the Ronettes is one of the most pop songs of all time. This song is featured in a lot of older movies, contenting true love between a young couple or at a high school dance. It is very famous for its history, catchy tune, and who sings it.

According to Clare Thorpe of BBC, the introduction of Be My Baby by the Ronettes was actually a mistake. Hal Blaine, the drummer, missed a beat but it still sounded so good, that they kept it. It now is considered the most recognizable intro to a song.

I really like the song. It is very catchy and repeats itself constantly. The repeated hook is very appealing to the ear with the voice of the group being very soft. The background singers do a very good job of coming in at the hook with a very smooth transition. The instruments used are nothing unique but they correlate very well with each other.

The lyrics are nothing special to any other love song. They are confessing their love and and how badly they want "him" to be their baby. But what makes them special is how they appear themselves. In their photo on the album cover, they have black eyeliner, which might appeal to the rebellious young women and the uprising rock n roll crowd.

  1. I'm pretty sure everyone has heard this song at one point or another. This is one of the most popular songs of its time. I agree that this song isn't anything special when it comes to the lyrics. My favorite part is the outfits they wear and the way they make themselves stand out from the crowd. This is what makes The Ronettes special.
